Schoeck Canada at the CPCI Infrastructure for Life Seminarfrom Pascal Maier
As one of the sponsors, Schoeck Canada visited the CPCI Infrastructure for Life Seminar in Toronto.
Renowned speakers presented different topics from across the industry. We were able to learn about new trends and innovations concerning precast, reinforcement and different design possibilities.
Most of the presentations were supported by technical analysis, so all attendees got a clear view about the several strengths and weaknesses of the product diversity and the different solutions.
Dr. Shamim Sheikh, University of Toronto, Dr. Noran Wahab – University of Waterloo and Dr. Khaled Sennah, Ryerson University explained the opportunities which GFRP offers and explained their positive experience with Schoeck ComBAR. Furthermore the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario used one of our references, the Whiteman bridge, and showed some pictures of ComBAR in their presentations.
All speakers used building project examples to show and educate their topic.
It was nice to see some finished projects with which we worked earlier.
The infrastructure for Life Seminar gave us an overview about all the things that happen also beside our own industry sector. For example Dr. Karl Peterson, University of Toronto, showed the problems of bacteria in connection with concrete.
Furthermore underground topics were shown. The speakers explained new methods of underground construction and how precast makes it easier. The seminar gave all attendees the chance to network with customers, competitors and colleagues of similar industries.
We want to thank all presenters for two nice days of education.
